On occasion, Liza Loop amuses herself by tracing ancesters and living relatives. The pages linked here show pictures of the

William Tyler Hookey, Senior Family

I'll put what I know about the people pictured in their captions. If you recognize anyone, please contact me. This should be fun. To see a piece of our family tree, click here

I think this is where they all lived at one time. The picture is from an old picture album I found in my grandmother's attic. Gramma was born

Virginia Grace Page (5/05/1890-1965)

George Nelson Hookey (3/04/1890-7/18/1917)

I'll put a picture of ole' William T. here. (I haven't scanned it yet.)

William T. Hookey, Senior had three sons. Ralph, the youngest, died at 14. He did leave a wonderful picture album which was also in Gramma's attic. Click here to skip ahead to Ralph's album

George Nelson was the middle brother, my biological grandfather. He died of tuberculosis when my mother was 4. His widow, Virginia, was distraught and the oldest brother, William, married her and brought up the two little girls. I knew him as Granpa. Little did these three young blades suspect what the future would bring.

There's more coming here but there is a picture I want to publish right away.

I recently received a message from

Clifford Hookey Shumacher, Jr.

Cliff writes, "My father was Emily Hookey
Schumacher's son. (same as me but Sr)."

According to my mother, June Hookey, this is a picture of Emily Schumacher, Bertha Hookey, Emily Manchester and baby, Clifford Schumacher. Emily Manchester would have been Baby Cliff's grandmother.

What do you think, Cliff? Is that baby your dad?

(I'll lighten up the picture and post it again tomorrow)

How about this lady? She's about the right age and I have this picture as Emily Schumacher too. I'm not confident this is correct. I do know Will and Emily Schumacher, Cliff's parents lived in Brooklyn with George Nelson Hookey and his parents and siblings for a while.

I have more pictures of Emily and Bertha which I'll post soon.

I think I can get this a lot clearer but here it is for now. The two little angels in front are my Aunt Nat and my mother, June. The tall woman on the right is my grandmother, Virginia Page Hookey. When I get this picture a little lighter you will be able to see the other two women's faces. I wonder if they are Bertha and Emily.

It's late and tomorrow is Monday so I'll have to curb my genealogical enthusiasm until tomorrow evening.

Thanks for looking in on us.
